George has brought together musicians from orchestras across the USA and has received the support of eminent pesonalities from the fields of music, academia, press, governments, etc.

The performance will feature a quartet of both renowned veterans and rising stars and a chorus of 150-200 assembled from the major choral ensembles in New York City. Artistic Director George Mathew will conduct. Glenn Dicterow, concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic, will be the concertmaster.

Proceeds from this concert will go to Doctors Without Borders (MSF) for their efforts on the earthquake victims.

More information: Responding to the humanitarian crisis in Darfur, a specially-assembled orchestra of instrumental luminaries from around the globe, four distinguished soloists, including soprano Alexandra Deshorties, and a chorus of 150 will join Singaporean-born Indian conductor George Mathew ('84) in a singular performance of Giuseppe Verdi??s Requiem.

UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and legendary actress Mia Farrow will introduce the concert.
